DCI Kenya issue arrest warrant for Cyprian Nyakundi

DCI Kenya have issued an arrest warrant for Cyprian Nyakundi for failing to attend to a court matter.

The warrant of arrest was issued on Tuesday by Milimani Principal Magistrate Caroline Muthoni after Nyakundi failed to present himself in court to plead to charges of publishing false information.

He is accused of publishing fake information on social media, where he alleged that a high-ranking Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) official had died of coronavirus (Covid-19) disease.

Nyakundi was apprehended on March 24th, 2020 and was released on police bond pending plea taking.

Mr. Cyprian Andama Nyakundi is WANTED by the @DCI_Kenya Regional Criminal Investigations Office – Nairobi following the issuance of a warrant of arrest in respect of him from the Chief Magistrate’s Court Milimani after he failed to attend Court as expected.

The order follows a case of Publication of False Information Contrary to Section 23 of the Computer Misuse and Cyber Crime Act filed against him by a complainant. Mr. Nyakundi is hereby ordered to present himself at the said office or at his nearest Police station immediately.
