Video Police in Kampala crammed 165 people in Central Police Cells for defying coronavirus curfew

Police in Uganda’s capital Kampala arrested 165 people for “defying” the dusk-to-dawn curfew imposed as a measure to curb the spread of the Covid-19 disease

At the start of the curfew more than 60 people were arrested in Kampala and its surroundings.

Businesses that opened were closed by the police and millitary and the owners arrested for defying the President orders.

All 165 people arrested were crammed in Central Police station.

A police spokesperson told the media that all the suspects had their temperature taken, and they have to wash their hands regularly according to Covid-19 prevention guidelines.

Uganda has confirmed 45 cases of Covid-19.
