DPP calls for end of speculation as investigations into Hon. Cyrus Jirongo’s death intensifies

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Mr. Renson Ingonga, CBS, OGW, on behalf of the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), led members of staff in condoling with the family of the late businessman, Hon. Cyrus Jirongo.

The DPP eulogised the seasoned politician as a distinguished entrepreneur, a go-getter, and a visionary with remarkable business acumen whose contribution to enterprise and national development will be fondly remembered by the public.

The DPP assured the public that investigations into the circumstances surrounding Hon. Jirongo’s death are ongoing, as earlier clarified by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in a public statement, urging the public to avoid speculation, with an assurance that due process will be followed to establish the cause of the accident that claimed the politician’s life.

Further, the DPP urged the family to remain united and strong during this difficult period, offering his deepest sympathies and prayers for comfort.

The DPP was accompanied by Secretary of Prosecution Services Alloys Kemo, OGW, Jacinta Nyamosi OGW, Deputy Director in the Department of Offences Against the Person, Joseph Riungu OGW, Ag. Deputy Director in the Department of Economic, Organized and International Crimes, and Victor Alenga OGW, Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions.
