Henry Shitanda, Former Bunge President, Rallies Gen Z to Register as Voters

:

Former National Bunge la Wananchi president Hon. Henry Shitanda has issued a clarion call to Gen Z, urging them to register as voters and take charge of the nation’s future.

Speaking in Kakamega County, where he has officially declared his bid for the Senate seat, Shitanda emphasized that the true power of the youth lies not in endless rhetoric but in action at the ballot box.

“As youth, we have what it takes to drive this nation forward. It is time to stop hiding behind the ‘tomorrow’s leaders’ narrative. Our tomorrow is now. Let’s rise, stand firm and redeem it,” declared Shitanda to thunderous applause.

Shitanda, remembered for his transformative tenure as Bunge president, has positioned himself as a fresh voice ready to steer Kakamega County into a new era. A proud son of the Kabras community, he believes it is time to bring his people’s voice to the national table.

He is credited with grassroots mobilization that has empowered numerous youth and women groups through rural engagement projects.

“My leadership, beyond oversight, will be about empowerment. We must uplift our people and move Kakamega County forward together,” he affirmed.

If elected, Shitanda will become the third senator of Kakamega, a role he promises to redefine with inclusivity, energy and the dynamism of a people-centered agenda.
