Confident Newton Lime cleared to vie for AFC Leopards treasurer position.

Newton Luchacha Lime has been officially cleared to run for Treasurer in the upcoming AFC Leopards elections, scheduled for 29th June. His clearance comes amid growing support, with recent internal club polls placing him as the fans’ favourite—a position he carries into the campaign with confidence and purpose.
Accompanied by an energized group of supporters, Lime made his way to Kasarani Sports Complex earlier today, marking the start of what many are calling a pivotal campaign for financial reform at the club.
At the heart of his bid is the slogan “I Believe”—a message of hope, trust, and transformation that has quickly gained traction among club members. Lime says the phrase is more than just a rallying cry; it’s a call to action.
“This is a new chapter, not just for me, but for AFC Leopards,” he said. “Having been part of this club for over 15 years—from active supporter to branch leadership—I know where we’ve stumbled, and more importantly, I know how we rise again. ‘I Believe’ represents our collective confidence in a better future.”
Lime’s strong credentials include a 20-year career in public service and a leadership stint as the former Chairman of the Buruburu Branch—experience that has equipped him with the skills to manage and safeguard the club’s finances.

Constantine Lisamula, the current Buruburu Branch Chairman, praised Lime’s blend of institutional knowledge and leadership maturity, describing him as a steady hand in turbulent times.

“Newton is not guessing his way through this,” Lisamula said. “He understands the fabric of this club. He’s not here to experiment—he’s here to restore order and vision.”
Lime’s campaign is anchored on four clear pillars designed to bring lasting change:
- ✅ Disciplined and Accountable Financial Management
- ✅ Strategic Budgeting to Eliminate Waste
- ✅ Tech-Driven Financial Systems
- ✅ Full Transparency in All Transactions
Though momentum is clearly building around his candidacy, Lime will face a competitive field that includes Hon. Patrick Kanyangi and Edward Buhasho—both experienced contenders for the Treasurer position.
With just 18 days left until members cast their votes, the question remains: Will “I Believe” carry Newton Lime all the way to the AFC Leopards treasury?
The fans believe. The polls suggest it. On June 29th, the club will decide.
