Career educationist Madam Kevina urges parents to keep children occupied with studies during covi19 break

A career educationist and a distiguished women leader in Vihiga county Madam Kevina Oriedo has urged parents to keep their school going kids busy to cushion them from becoming social deviants and help them stay safe of covid19.

Speaking on a vernacular radio station in Vihiga, Madam Kevina regretted that Vihiga county has one of the highest teen pregnancies which have led to many school dropouts in the county. This trend can only be reversed if we can all work together as teachers, parents and admnistrations.
“I want to urge all parents to closely monitor their children during this unfortunate break. Lets encourage our children to focus on their studies as we monitor the covid 19 situation in our country” Madam Kevina added.

Madam Kevina further urged parents to take advantage of digital online tools provided by Longhorn publishers to help mentor their kids while at home.

On hygiene, she urged parents to emphasize on personal hygiene and to try and desuade their children from social gatherings like parties, disco matanga which are ripe grounds for the spread of covid 19 .

The same sentiments were echoed by the Vihiga county Speaker Hon Mudeizi who has also urged the locals to remain alert during this covid 19 epidermic.

Madam Kevina used the occasion to also reschedule activities she had lined up over the weeked in Vihiga with various youth and women groups.
“I also wish to regrettably announce the rescheduling of all the engagements we had planned in Vihiga county, as we all know it is due to covid 19 scare but God willing we shall resume” She added
