Prime Cabinet secretary Hon Mudavadi and Makadara law maker Hon George Aladwa grace Ingwe gala held at the Maa Hotel in Nairobi

It was pomp and color as AFC Leopards SC held  its gala at the Maa Hotel in Nairobi.

The gala which is the brainchild of one Mr Olimpia Musonye chairman of the U45 Unit branch so several players, fans and branches feted for their outstanding contributions towards AFC leopards in the 2023/24 season.

Speaking at the event, Mr Musonye thanked the fans , players and the national executive committee  for their efforts in the season past.

“I want to express my profound gratitude to the entire Ingwe fraternity under the able leadership of our club president Dr Dan Shikanda for their efforts in the past season. Both the NEC, playing unit and the fans pulled together which saw Ingwe finish third in the Mozart cup and 5th in the league. By pulling  together in the new season, we can only dream of better things in the new season starting this weekend. On behalf of my branch U45 Unit branch, we wish our beloved club AFC Leopards nothing but the best” said Musonye.

Unity will see Ingwe reclaim its lost glory ~Aladwa.

Makadara law maker Hon Aladwa who is also a former club secretary general challenged Ingwe family to remain united to enable Ingwe reclaim its lost glory.

“First I must thank my brother Olimpia Musonye for the honor he bestowed on me by inviting me to this gala that is his branch’s initiative. I also wish to extend sincere appreciation to the NEC, players and fans for their loyalty to the club. Speaking as a former club Secretary General, I know what unity can do. Under my tenure, Ingwe finished 2nd in the league and clinched the Gotv shield cup. We can achieve better results by pulling together” said Aladwa.

Although the event  was non political, Aladwa challenged those who had gathered to support Hon Mudavadi and pray for him as he serves the nation.

“I wish to challenge all of us and especially  the Mulembe nation to rally behind Hon Mudavadi and pray for him as he serves the nation for under him we know the future is bright” added the law maker.

AFC leopards should go corporate~Mudavadi.

While addressing  the gathering, Mudavadi did not mince his words and immidiately called on Ingwe leadership to expedite the process that will see Ingwe go corporate.

“First I want to thank U45 Unit branch under Mr Musonye for hosting this event that will motivate both the fans and players in the coming season. It is about time that AFC stopped living on a borrowed time and worked hard to win trophies.. Second runners up in Mozzart cup and 5th in kpl can be improved by sheer hard work and unity of all stake holders.” Said Mudavadi.

Go out there, win matches and remind them that you are leopards~Mudavadi.

While encouraging the players to go out and win matches, Mudavadi further promised to make a habit of attending Ingwe matches in the coming season and join all the 80 branches. Mudavadi further promised to fastrack the acquisition of a piece of land in Kasarani that was given to the club by former president  Moi.

Moving forward, will try and attend more of our matches. This season. Iam also glad to see the club broaden and grow beyond our boarders of Mulembe and country Kenya. Iam happy seeing Ingwe get players from Turkana and South Sudan which is a true reflection of who we are as Mulembe people. I Will become a member of all the 80 branches so that I  can  have landing rights wherever  I go be it Executive branch or Kitengela.” added.

While aknowledging the top fan of the season one Mr Ambunya, Hon Mudavadi challenged fans to be as passionate as the late Marola who would roll on the ground several whenever Ingwe scored.
