*Dr Antony Walela wrote:

This morning, I saw many school going kids engaged on their family farms as I drove to work. This gave me other ideas about our school calendar. If the December holidays where kids idle at home can be reduced to 4 weeks as March and April holidays are increased to 7 weeks, the economy of this country would grow faster. Mimi sijui kitu inaitwa Child labour. Ni kazi ya nyumbani tu

Kenyans had mixed reactions as posted below.:

Doktari Antony Walela, child labor is illegal in this country. You cannot have it both ways. Either children idle at home, playing and being just kids or engage them in illegal forced labor. I would rather my girl just played “kati”, watched Nickelodeon, cartoon network and even PJ Masks instead of side stepping this prime need for kids only for the desire to watch to come back to her later on when she turns 50.

You should have called the police and child services department, arrested their parents and even the adults who had previously passed by without doing a thing. Responsibility of torts doktari

Norlan Siyimbu disagreed with Marango Moses as he commented.

Moses Marango my child can not watch Sofia or ride that bike the whole day ati because it’s being a kid. If my parents would have brought me up like that, ningekua shiiiiingwa (you can google the meaning) for the rest of my life. Samaki mkunje angali mbichi. “Child labour” imekuwa misused term kwa hii Kenya yetu.

This is not child labor, the other day I saw CBC kids cleaning markets, isn’t it the same as doing farm work at home?

Fred Lutta opined:
Hio sio child labour, I support
