Covid-19 is an Invisible enemy that must be located, Israel to use Anti -Terrorism technology – Benjamin Netanyahu orders.
The government of Israel has said it will use anti- Terrorism technology to combat the deadly Corona Virus. It is temporarily shutting down the economy so as to dedicate all energy and resources into combating and eliminating this virus.
The Prime minister said, cyber monitoring would be deployed to locate people who have come into contact with those who are infected subject to cabinet’s approval. We will use digital means, the technology we have been using to fight terrorism. He said he has requested the Justice ministry for approval because such measures could infringe on patients privacy.
In an escalation of precautionary measures, Netanyahu government announced that all shopping malls, restaurants, hotels and movie theatres should shut down from Saturday. The shin bet, Isarael’s domestic security, confirmed that ” there is no choice ” but to deploy the technology to fight the Corona Virus.
The prime minister said, ” In all my years as prime minister I have avoided using these means among the civilian public but there is no choice,”
The Israeli military said earlier on Saturday that it had ordered all troops to return to their bases by Sunday morning, and that combat soldiers should prepare for a lengthy stay with no leave for up to a month.
And today the government of Israel has approved emergency measures to track people suspected or confirmed to have been infected with the coronavirus by monitoring their mobile phones. It will track mobile phones of suspected coronavirus persons.
The cabinet unanimously approved the use of the technology – developed initially for counterterrorism purposes – in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
