Nairobi’s Nominated Mcas threaten to move to court as their elected collegues retreat to Kisumu

Nairobi county assembly nominated members have threatened to move to court complaining of open discrimination from their elected collegues.

Last week, Nairobi county assembly amended its standing oders denying nominated members rights to vote. In what was termed as one ward one vote, the elected members blamed their nominated colleagues who are 41 in numbers for frustrating their efforts in impeaching governor Sonko.

“Our nominated collegues have frustrated us for a long time hence our resolve to put them where they belong they ganged up with a handfull of some hungry elected members to protect Sonko at a fee” an elected member who did not wish to be named said.
On their part, nominated Mca’s will be moving to court to challenge the standing order that was passed.
“Yes, we shall move to court and challenge that draconian standing order. The constitution gave us the rights to be in this assembly to represent special interest groups.You cannot therefore deny us what the constitution rightfully gaveus.” A nominated member lamented.
