AFC Leopards will bounce back better and stronger says Shinyalu MP Hon Fred Ikana.

Shinyalu MP and Kakamega county ANC  chairperson Hon Fred Ikana has assured leopards fans across the country to remain calm as Ingwe management try to sort issues.

The lawmaker cum city businessman was speaking after Ingwe was unceremoniously eliminated from the Mozart bet cup following the 2:1 defeat at the hands of the Kakamega based outfit Kakamega Homeboyz FC.

Prior to Ingwe’s loss, the Patrick Ausemis led lads had 6handed their arch rivals Gor Mahia 1:2 defeat at the Nyayo stadium. The win was the first for Ingwe since 2016. However the anticipated morale boost by the win did not materialise against Homeboyz.

Hon Ikana helps Ingwe to raise over 2.5Million.

Last week, Hon Ikana was a guest of honor at an Ingwe fundraiser held at the Maa hotel in Nairobi’s Hurlingham area.

Speaking at the event, Hon Ikana promised to lead Ingwe’s resource mobilisation campaign to help solve Ingwe’s perennial financial issues.

I want to assure all the AFC Leopards fraternity that I will personally lead the Ingwe resource mobilization team with the sole purpose of solving Ingwe’s financial woes once and for all. AFC must return to its glory days and to achieve this, all the stakeholders, leaders and the community must rally behind our only pride as a luhya nation”  Ikana said.

Despite the fact that Ingwe has also lost  on the title which can be attributed to the club’s inability to sign quality players thanks to a FIFA ban, Ikana said that a new look AFC Leopards was on the way and warned the nay sayers to brace themselves for a fight next season.

Afc leopards will bounce back stronger and better. We are working around the clock to ensure Ingwe returns to their winning ways. We are working with the current management under DR Shikanda to ensure our fans get real value for their unwavering support throughout the season” added Hon Ikana.

During the Harambee, Hon Ikana gave 50,000 ksh  as personal donation besides presenting Hon Mudavadi’s 200 000ksh.

Other leaders who contributed during the Harambee are Hon Tim Wanyonyi MP Westlands 200k,  Hon Aladwa 160k, Hon Shinalu 50k while Club Patron and Immigrations Director General Mr Muteshi gave 1M from himself and friends
