KNUT’S SG COLLINS OYUU WANTS MAANDAMANO STOPPED SO AS NOT TO INTERRUPT THE SCHOOL CALENDAR

By Mwalimu Amunga

KNUT secretary General Collins Oyuu has called on president Ruto to reach out and dialogue with Raila Odinga in an effort to end the demonstrations currently rocking the country.

Oyuu says the demos are having a huge impact on school activities with many learners in affected cities staying away from school.

A spot check proves Oyuu right, that schools in Mathare, Kibra, Kawangware, Embakasi, Umoja and in towns like Kisumu, Migori, Kitale, Kakamega and Homa bay have not reported to school this morning. They missed school last Monday. And the Monday before that learners reporting back to boarding schools failed to do so because of Maandamano.

Oyuu takes a stand similar to COTU BOSS Francis Atwoli and has told teachers to ensure they report on duty because #MaandamanoMonday or #MaandamanoThursday are not public holidays.
