NAIROBI CEC BRIAN MULAMA OVERSEES THE REFURBISHING OF TOYOYO GROUNDS.

County Executive Committee member for talent, skills development, and care Bran Mulama this week spearheaded the inspection of the development of various sports facilities in Nairobi.

Mulama, on Thursday, supervised the ceremonial ground-breaking for the construction of a basketball court at Camp Toyoyo in the Makadara Constituency’s Harambee Ward.

Mulama said that the construction of the court will help the youth in the area develop their skills in the sport as the county seeks to nurture sports talent across the county.

“This is a very welcome move for our youth to have sports facilities to play and grow their talent, which is a form of employment world over,” Mulama noted.

The construction of the court is funded by the beverage brand Hennessy in collaboration with the government of Nairobi City County government.

Later, Mulama proceeded to Mwiki, in Mwiki Ward, to formally kickstart the building of a football field and a county social hall. Field fencing has also started, with preparations underway for the actual groundbreaking of the Mwiki field.

Mulama also visited the state-of-the-art Dandora Stadium, where construction work has started and the contractor is back on site to ensure the stadium will be completed in two months’ time. Construction of the stadium stalled in 2019.
