Gov Oparanya fit to take over from Raila when the time comes-Hon Carolyne Mayunzu

Former Nairobi county member of assembly Hon Corolyne Mayunzu has vouched for immidiate former Kakamega county boss and deputy ODM party leader Hon Oparanya to take over from Rt Raila Odinga.

Speaking during Easter Holiday as she attended a church in Westlands, Hon Mayunzu who is an ODM national official said that Governor Oparanya has so far proved that his loyalty to the ODM party and Baba is unquestionable.

“Oparanya has proved beyond doubt that he is a true soldier of ODM and Baba. The former Planning minister during the Nusu Mkate government has an unrivalled track record in the planning ministry. Most of the plans under Kibaki government have his signiture. He has transformed Kakamega county during his two terms as county boss. For sure, there can never be a better person worthy to take over the mantle of leading ODM and this country after Baba” said Hon Mayunzu.

Quoting from the bible, Hon Mayunzu said that Oparanya has always been a constant figure besides Baba. This has made him to be battle hardened and fit for the impending top job ahead.

We have all been seeing him besides Raila be it during Maandamano, Azimio rallies etc.It is therefore imperative that Raila’s double portion is given to Oparanya once Baba calls it a day in this struggle” added Mayunzu

Kenya Kwanza should forget the Western Kenya vote.~Mayunzu.

On the latest in-roads by Kenya Kwanza in both Nyanza and the former western province block, Mayunzu  laughed off the enterprise calling it an excercise in futility.

“Kenya Kwanza’s fishing expedition in the vast Western Kenya region will yield no results. Under the stewardship of Gov Oparanya, we managed to get 3 out of the four governors in western province. With Bungoma narrowly going to Ford Kenya. Both Vihiga, Kakamega and Busia has majority of MCAs on Odm/Azimio. This is a clear indication that Western under Oparanya is firmly under Azimio axis”  continued Mayunzu.

Mayunzu further termed the Kenya Kwanza government and its failed manifesto as a joke

“Kenya Kwanza rode on a populist wave and ascended to power in a clandestine scheme that has so far divided our nation. Their manifesto was to borrow King Macbeth words, ‘it was a sound made by an idiot full of sound and fury signifying nothing’. The current economic mess need a planner who is tried and tested and that is none other than Hon Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya” she said.

Is Oparanya fit for presidency?
Mayunzu further opines that there is no politician in the larger Mulembe nation who has portrayed selflessness, character, vision and competence tried and tested than Governor Oparanya.

“Whereas most of the so called senior Mulembe nation leaders have shown signs of political water melonism, Oparanya has remained firm and devout on the course of democracy and liberation of the Mulembe nation.His consistency and grasp of issues affecting both Mulembe nation and the country at large. This makes him an Ideal candidate for the top job.

Oparanya who is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) K had an illustrious career in accounting and finance with over 23 years of experience, having worked for various companies including; Earnest & Young where he was a Senior Audit Manager from 1980-1995

Politics

Wycliffe Oparaya officially threw himself into the political ring in 2002 when he won the Butere Parliamentary seat and went on to retain the seat in 2007 under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party. He was appointed Minister of State for Planning, National Development and Vision 2030, under the grand-coalition government.

After the promulgation of the new constitution in 2010, Oparanya vied for Governor of Kakamega with ODM and won. He successfully defended the seat again in 2017 with the same party and he is currently a retired governor with his eyes fixed on the ultimate prize-the presidency.

Oparanya remains the last man standing as the deputy party boss to Raila. A rare sign of loyalty.

Other deputies to Raila who have either left or vanished include former Turkana governor Hon Nanok and Hon Ali Hassan  Joho of Mombasa.
