My vision for AFC leopards SC-Ronald Namai chairman aspirant

Exactly 22 days from today, the oldest club in Kenya AFC leopards will hold its national elections as stipulated in its constitution.

The current NEC led by Dan Shikanda has managed the club for the past 3 years. Several soccer pundits believe the regime has failed i several spheres but that question will be adjudicated over by the AFC leopards members late this month.

In the recent past, AFC leopards has gained the reputation of holding a free and fair election devoid of chaos as it used to be the norm in the past.

Ronald Namai throws his hat in the ring to challenge Dan Shikanda for the position of club president.

Ronald Namai Wamukoya a management expert and a keen follower and supporter of AFC leopards has once again offered himself for election as club chairman.

Namai a former club CeO is remembered for steering the club into complying with the 2011 sports act. Having been at the center of the process, it goes without saying that Namai has the prerequisite knowhow to steer the club to greater heights.

“My vision for AFC leopards is very clear, I have no aota of doubt that the 3 pillars that I have premised my manifesto on will turn around the dwindling club fortunes. Our forefathers bequethed to us this great club to help the community unite as we watch our young men play football. Iam sure our forefathers are turning in their graves whenever they see the sorry state our club has become. We must get it right now.” Said Namai while speaking on a local radio station.

Is Namai fit for the hot seat?

Ronald Namai believes he is upto the daunting task ahead.

“During my brief service as club ceo, I proved to the club faithfuls that AFC leopards can go places. During my tenure, I helped amicably solve a dispute between AFC leopards and former player Dan Wagaluka which had already attracted FIFA sanctions. We also set up a club secretariate on Mombasa road which the outgoing regime has failed to maintain. Under my watch, the club had a vibrant youth team which was winning matches fully equiped with a coach Bonface Ambani but now nobody can authoritatively name our youth team coach leave alone mentioning about its existence. I helped put systems in place about E-ticketing and sound match day team management. We had some of the well staged derbies with our arch rivals Gor mahia. In a nutshell during my term getting things right was the norm”added Namai.

Several branches and former players/officials endorse Namai’s candidature.

As days quickly approach several branches have already thrown their weight behind Namai.

Patrick Hei of Kangemi’s Loresho branch had this to say
“We elected Shikanda due to his past foitballing record, we expected much from him but all we have seen is heart break after another. Fifa has banned the club from signing new players , we have ended a whooping 3yrs without any silverware, no physical office. Enough is enough lets get it right under Namai” Hei.

Kayole branch too is rallying behind Namai.
“The time to get things right is now. Namai has what it takes to steer AFC leopards forward. Why settle for a vitz when we have a benz? quiped Alvine Mwonja of Kayole branch
.

Boost for Namai as former chairman Dan Mule endirses his candidature.

Many people say it could be a surprise turn if events in the den but whichever way you look at it, Namai’s popularity among AFC leopards menbers is growing like bushfire in the hamattan.

Former club president Dan Mule has called on members to elect Namai as next club president.

I have worked with Namai before, his immense love for a club that is well anchored and winning titles cannot be underscored. During my tenure, Namai was our CeO and his astituteness helped us achieve alot. It was my wish that my successor Dan Shikanda would build from the foundation we had laid to make our club great again but that never took place. Our members have an opportunity through Namai to redeem our image as a club. It is against this backdrop that I endorse my brother Namai Ronald” Mule said while talking to KTN’s Zilizala Viwanjani show.

Other positions up for grqbs are club treasurer pitying incumbent Maurice Chichi vs former treasurer Oliver Napali while the SG position has attracted a Mombasa based businessman Gilbert Andugu, City businessman Tony Omusina aka Director and HR practitioner from the Nairobi county government Robert Situma aka Omusawa Nanyende original.

The forthcoming Ingwe elections will be a departure from the past where euphoria and cult worship will dictate the results.

Whichever way it goes we wish the oldest club in Kenya a fantastic outing on the material day and hope that atleast they get it right this time round
