Kasarani Parliamentary Aspirant the SportPesa CEO Captain Ronald Karauri was today cleared to contest for the seat as an independent candidate.
Karauri, who was thrilled following his clearance, presented his papers to the IEBC offices at 2:00 PM and despite going independent after the Jubilee party failed to conduct party nominations, Karauri declared his support for the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya flag bearer Raila Odinga in the Presidential race.
Karauri said that it is because of the ODM Leader that today Kenyans enjoy a lot of rights and freedoms and therefore, he is determined to support a Raila Odinga Presidency.
“I am happy we have been cleared. This is the first step towards a better tomorrow for the great people of Kasarani,” Karauri said.
“It is about time that Kasarani is well represented by someone like me who will push for their basic rights and to enjoy basic services such as quality education, food and water,” he said.
“Even though I am an Independent candidate, I am supporting Raila Odinga in the Presidential race. He is the best bet for this country,” Karauri added.
According to the pilot, this will mark the beginning of the journey to liberate Kasarani from claws of incompetent leaders.
