Uhuru on the spot: Will he evacuate mistreated Kenyans by Chinese?

Videos of desperate Kenyans who have been bundled from their apartments in China brings to the fore faulty relationship and one sided marriage between Kenya and China.

Buckets of anger, frustrations and fear for lives of these Kenyans has spilled into every heart of ordinary citizen. Many citizens are now turning their voices of anger to the president of the Republic Mr Uhuru Kenyatta. Voices from leaders are also flowing in, imploring the president to act as the head of state and evacuate the distressed citizens. Many have said, Mr. president these Kenyans are not lesser citizens.

And while the Kenyan representative in China Sarah Cheserem has goofed while releasing a statement stating government’s position ” That our hands are tied ” Kenyans have refused to accept it. Kenyans are calling also on the president to recall her from her duties. They say she has failed to help her bothers and sisters.

Politicians have joined the long list of voices calling on the president to act and these includes but not limited to William Kabogo who tweeted ” Me. President pls send a dream liner to pick our sisters and brothers in China. We shall revisit our relationship with Beijing later “

Whether President Uhuru will open his heart and go to the aid of these suffering Kenyans, is a matter of heated debate in the country. Imagine during these fearful times of Covid-19 pandemic, and you are forced to sleep on the streets, and being homeless and accused of spreading Covid-19. Is this not an act of inhumanity and a breach of international rights? The Chinese government must act properly otherwise, retaliation will not be good across other nations.
