‘We will back area MCA Hon Millicent Mugadi for re election’-Ziwani youths declare.

A section of Ziwani/Kariokor ward youth leaders have backed the re-election  of area Member of the County Assembly Millicent Mugadi during the forthcoming general elections scheduled for August 9, 2022.

The youth, drawn from different youths groups domiciled in the area, said that Millicent, a second term MCA in the ward has helped in improving the security situation in the area as well as youth and women empowerment projects which have seen the youths in the area better their lives.

Since her election, MCA Millicent Mugadi has been working with youth groups in Ziwani, Kariokor and Gikomba areas and this has greatly improved our ward,” said Anthony Opati, a car wash operator at Ziwani.

“This area had a lot of insecurity such that people dreaded walking here. This has improved because now the youth have been engaged and empowered. Youths in the area were in the past killed by police as they engaged in crime but now they have been engaged and empowered to stop the wayward behaviours all thanks to the positive approach that the MCA has taken. She has embraced the youth and shown them that crime does not pay and this has really helped,” Opati added.

Victor Mwangi, a mechanic who is born and raised in the area said that Millicent has initiated the instalment of high mast security lights as well as increase of police officers in the area and this has been instrumental in improving the security situation in the area.

“I was born here and people got mugged and killed in the dark alleys. Now since Milli came in, the streets are well lit and this is a big improvement because now I am not afraid to walk home at 9 PM after a day of hard work. I will wake up early in the morning to vote for Millicent,” Mwangi said.
