Blow to Mudavadi as Registrar of Political Parties refuses to aknowledge changes in Anc party.

Amani National Congress (Anc) will have to wait a little longer before proposed changes in the party are effected.

Coming hot on the heels of the unceremonious exit and subsiquent resignation from the party by its Sg Barack Muluka and the untimely exit too of Eliud  Owalo, RPP has added more missery into the party.

Mudavadi being sworn in as party leader as per the new constitution that has since been rejected by RPP

Prior to his exit, Muluka had suggested a myriad of changes in the party which included :-
Ammendment of the party constitution to include Amani Council as the supreme organ of the party chaired by the party leader himself.

Change of party slogan from Amani na Ugatuzi to Uchumi Bora among other changes.

However, a member moved the RPP and successfully stopped the changes sighting several mis gaps in the build up to the changes.
According to  aletter seen by Www.goodmorningkenya from Kisilu & Wandati appearing for the petitioner,  a member challenges the changes sighting section 20 of the Political parties Act.

Petition premised on:-
  – The composition of Nec and NGC as well as the procedure in convening of the meeting was defective from the word go.
  – Publication of the notice of intention flauted section 20(2) of the political parties act in sofar as it was published only in one newspaper of nationwide circulation instead of two as mandated by the act.

A letter seen by www.goodmorningkenya.com from the RPP objecting to the changes read in part.

….kindly note that ANC party constitution shall only take effect upon conclusive satisfaction of the process envisaged under the Anc party constitution and section 20 of the Political parties act

This has put a halt to the steady march but a section of Anc members like Makadara have gone ahead  and rebranded from Amani na Ugatuzi to Uchumi Bora despite the advisory from RPP.

Several other decisions by the party like the expulsion of  nominated Mp Hon Osotsi and Kakamega senator Hon  Malala too had hit a dead end on both technicalities leading to the buildup of the decisions.

What next for Anc? Time will tell.
