Makadara constituency parliamentary hopeful Anthony Waithaka joins Kenya kwanza leaders in drumming up support for Ruto in Nairobi

Thursday, March 17th, 2022: Prominent businessman and Makadara parliamentary candidate Anthony Waithaka was the star attraction today during the Kenya Kwanza Nairobi campaign tour that kicked off in Makadara constituency.

Waithaka, popularly known as “Anto Makadara 1” led the campaigns in the constituency at which the Kenya Kwanza luminaries led by Deputy President Dr. William Ruto and Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader former Vice President Musalia Mudavadi.

Waithaka, who was perched next to the Deputy President a top the Ruto’s vehicle all along in all the stop overs through the Makadara tour had his star shine bright as Makadara residents who lined the streets along the road chanted his name.

The convoy snaked from Mareba in Viwandani to Jogoo road heading to Bahati, Kata Mwingi, NCCK, Buruburu and Mtindwa market in Buruburu.

Waithaka was the only parliamentary aspirant who had the honour of being introduced to speak by DP Ruto who introduced him to the crowd at all stops. Ruto asked Makadara residents to vote for Waithaka alongside his Presidential vote noting that Waithaka represents new order in the constituency.

Waithaka promised all inclusive leadership noting that he will move away from the practice of tribalism.
“Makadara residents have suffered under the current leadership that practices rampant tribalism. Everything the current MP (George Aladwa) does is based on tribalism and we should shun such kind of politics,” Waithaka said.

Impressed with the reception that Waithaka, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) aspirant for Makadara constituency, Ruto was heard telling Waithaka that victory was within sight. “Uko set my brother hii kiti naona uta shinda ule mtu wa sisi kama jamii,” (My brother, you are set to defeat that man who speaks about his community every time in this contest) Ruto told Waithaka.

The Kenya Kwanza and UDA brigade toured parts of Nairobi in campaigns that began in Makadara constituency. The campaigns began in Mareba between Lunga Lunga road and Likoni road then moved to Uhuru Market along Jogoo road then to Kata Mwingi.

The Ruto campaigns then moved to Naivas The Point branch area then Mutindwa market between before heading to Korogocho Market and ending at Naivas in Donholm estate.
