On February 21st 2020 a gang visited terror on the family of a businessman Mr Kennedy Ambani killing him, his wife and two kids.
This ugly incident occured barely two weeks after another terror gang hacked to death a man and his wife at Itenji village of Vihiga county.
During questions time at the national assembly, Hon Godfrey Osotsi demanded a detailed satement from the interior Cs on the Vihiga foul murders.
“Mr Speaker Sir I rise to ask a question in regards to the deteriorating security in Vihiga county. Mr Speaker Sir, in a span of two weeks, two families have been murdered in a very gruesome way. It is so painful to face death in that way. Locals raised alarm for help but due to the poor police response, lives have been lost.
The people of Vihiga dont feel safe as early as 7pm. As leaders from Vihiga we demand answers from this government because those people pay tax and it is upto the government of the day to ensure maximum security. What are the remedial measures by the concerned Cs? What is the IG doing to avert the ran away rape cases and burglaries in Vihiga county?”. Hon Osotsi asked.
The speaker in his ruling directed the cabinet secretary for Interior and national cordination to appear before the departmental committee for interior and administration to respond to Hon Osotsi’s concerns.
