Football Kenya Federation Nairobi East branch Secretary Dickson Doyo has thrown his hat in the ring to contest for the Pumwani ward Member of the County Assembly (MCA).
Doyo, a second term FKF Nairobi east secretary and seasoned grassroots official is vying for the seat on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket and will be seeking to fly the Azimio La Umoja coalition flag at the August 9th general elections.
Doyo’s chance to triumph was today given a major boost, when he toured the ward in the company of the Nairobi gubernatorial front runner and most likely Azimio La Umoja candidate Richard Ngatia.
Ngatia, who rode a-top his official car with Doyo on the campaign trail traversed the Pumwani ward before holding a mega rally at the Gikomba market.
Doyo said that his plan for the ward is to ensure that the area, primarily known as a business hub has amenities like clean water and proper drainage as well as agitate for the protection of businesses in the area that have in the past seen unknown assailants set ablaze the Gikomba market.
The youthful Doyo is riding on his successes in sports administration, and especially football which he has used to empower youths in the area. Doyo is the founder of Uprising football team.
Ngatia asked the voters in Gikomba to turn out in large numbers and vote for the Azimio la Umoja candidates starting with Raila Odinga down to Doyo at the ward level noting that Azilmio was uniting the nation and Kenyans are safe at the hands of Odinga.
