When Mount Kenya Billionaires met OKA Principals, one thing was clear they wanted a Presidential Candidate presented for the upcoming general elections.
Among the OKA Principals, only Musalia Mudavadi has been on the campaign trail begging the question if the other three principals Gideon Moi, Moses Wetangula, and Kalonzo Musyoka will be on the ballot.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has upped the tempo, the cunning politician has changed tact on BBI and now using the Azimio la Umoja platform to galvanize his votes in readiness to face DP William Ruto.
While OKA seems like a safe pair of hands, they are too slow to find a method that they will use to choose their candidate.
There are rumors that Gideon Moi launched his Presidential bid in order to have bargaining power and entice Rtd Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga for a DP slot.
The Baringo Senator who has a war chest and resources that could launch one of the biggest campaigns lacks a constituency. The KANU Chairman a friend of the Uhuru’s is busy trying to find allies and recently brought Cyrus Jirongo into the OKA circle. Interesting OKA now has 3 Luhya principles which is a disadvantage to Musalia Mudavadi.
There is speculation that Gideon Moi brought Cyrus Jirongo to checkmate Mudavadi and curtail him when the time comes for OKA Presidential Nominations.
There is speculations that the KANU Chairman is gravitating towards forming a coalition with ODM. A few weeks ago in Migori, ODM Chairman John Mbadi hinted on a coalition pact with KANU.
“And we are also going to work very closely with KANU led by Gideon Moi. As Kenyans we are working together towards uniting this country,” Mbadi stated.
His sentiments were echoed by Ugunja member of parliament Opiyo Wandayi who insisted that the future of the country lies in the unity of political leaders.
“We believe the future of this country lies in the unity of purpose which can only come through coalitions and progressive alliances such as the one ODM is currently engaged in with our worthy partners in One Kenya Alliance especially KANU and with Jubilee,” he noted.
On the other hand, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka seems to have launched his secretariat but gone cold on his presidential bid.
The Wiper Leader seems content in becoming Musalia Mudavadi Deputy. Ford Kenya Leader Moses Wetangula game plan is not yet known but a number of politicians from Western Kenya are hinting that he has a soft spot for Deputy William Ruto.
Time is gone, DP William Ruto and Raila Odinga are running and campaigning into the hearts of voters.
So the question is when will OKA Present its Presidential candidate?
The task at hand is so huge, the OKA team will have to launch its messaging, start moving around the country.
