Kenya National Private Security Workers Union ( KNPSWU) ~ reinforces its call for reform agenda in the private security sector in Kenya

Speaking in Kisumu during a one day consultative stakeholders meeting at Tom Mboya Labour College, the KNPSWU General Secretary Bro. Isaac Andabwa said that the union was looking for better ways of improving the security sector

” We are looking into better ways, means and strategy of improving private security industry and one approach is by engaging employers.
The one day forum brought forth Kenya Security Industry Association ( KSIA) led by Bro.Erick Okeyo and together the two parties resolved~

✓ To strength the inter~working relationship and push for the hastening of reforms in the sector.
✓ To take a lead role in interacting with other key stakeholders, the Government being one of them and share out the vast and rich expertise gained from experience in the quest to reforms.
✓ Synergize together and focus towards establishing private security academy ~ that will focus on professionalism and progressive career growth among the guards and guardetts .
✓In partnership, focus towards social- economic empowerment of the private security officers by establishing agiant SACCO with management parties being drawn from employers, employees, Union and like- minded security associations.
✓ In unity ( KNPSWU & KSIA) to fast track the stalled CBA’s for the good of the private security officers in Kenya.

Mr. Andabwa called on the guards not to be fence- sitters but take opportunity during this window of voter registration and register enmasse to have a say during next year’s general elections. He called on the guards to be proactive and equally participate in their constitutional rights by going for various elective seats when time comes.

We are not a voting club” ” We have numbers and we will not be misused and taken for a ride” We will go for specific elective seats as private security officers~Said Bro. Andabwa.

He called on All Employers and the IEBC to provide room for guards and guardetts to register as voters with easeness~ going by the nature of there work( shifts) and challenges at hand.
The youthful vibrant KNPSWU General Secretary, is touted among a few as one of the best candidates as far COTU leadership is concerned. Today He walks down the isle to solemnize their marriage with her better – half : Mrs Catherine Ijenya Vugusu. The ceremony is taking place in Lugari Sub-County, Chekalini catholic parish and thereafter the reception will be at thier home in Manyonyi Village
