Retail chain Quickmart is marking its 15year anniversary with a massive celebration that will see it reward customers with assorted incentives and prizes worth millions of shillings in the month of September. The promotion runs from the 3rd of September to the 3rd of October 2021.

In the national consumer campaign launched this morning under the ‘Sherehe Ibambe’ banner, Quickmart customers will be able to win 5 brand new cars and prizes worth millions across all stores. The campaign also entails DAILY CRAZY CONSUMER OFFERS across all of its 45 branches.

“We are putting our customers at the heart of this 15-year anniversary celebration. It is because of their loyal support that we have come this far and earned a place among tier one supermarkets in Kenya. We are thanking them with the various prizes and incentives and promising them that we will continue to walk with them into the future” said Quickmart’s Head of Marketing, Betty Wamaitha during the official launch of the anniversary celebrations at the Kilimani branch in Nairobi. She traces the 15year journey back in 2006 in Nakuru town where the first Quickmart store was launched amid the then understated vibrancy of the town. With a vision to reach the upper echelons of Kenya’s retail and convenience sector, Quickmart then ventured into the capital city in 2010 to open its first store in Ruai, followed by the Ruaka branch. A total of 11 more branches were opened in respective locations in Nairobi, Nakuru and Kiambu counties.

“It is worth noting that in August 2020, Quickmart and Tumaini Supermarkets announced a merger and business integration that was approved by the Competition Authority of Kenya, to form a unified retailer that has steered growth and expansion of convenient stores across the country

Today, the steady and sustainable business transformation strategy has seen the Supermarket chain boast of 45 branches across 11 counties employing a workforce of over 4000 members who are the main brand ambassadors, serving an average of 3 million customers. This has led to cementing its place as a Tier 1 supermarket in Kenya.

“As we celebrate our customers, we are also recognising our staff whose dedication and hard work has brought us this far. We are also saluting our suppliers and the thousands of farmers across the country whose products and produce find their way to our shelves enabling us deliver on our brand promise of Fresh & Easy, to every customer “added Wamaitha as she presented awards to some of the longest serving staff.

“Our growth guarantees access to the market for over 24,000 farmers who enjoy a regular income by supplying fresh produce to the Quickmart stores countrywide. 30% of our products consist of fresh produce. Our supplier network includes over 600 businesses from different sectors.”

Noting the challenges that the country has faced during the pandemic, explained that the supermarket invested heavily in structuring the stores to adhere to the Ministry of Health protocols keeping all their staff and shoppers safe and continued to serve customers even during the tightest lockdown periods over the past two years.

Over the years, Quickmart Supermarket has supported numerous projects as part of their corporate social responsibility pillar. For example, the staff nutrition programme in partnership with GAIN and the sponsorship of CAR 50 in the recently concluded leg of the WRC Safari Rally. The head of marketing revealed that they will continue to do so in Health and Wellness and Sports Development.
In interview with journalist Betty wamaitha remains skeptical on question weather the retail was enjoying illicit money flows from unnamed tycoon.”our focus is on how we can expand to whole country while keeping the interest of Kenyan at heart” said Betty .
