AFC Leopards SG Gilbert Andugu on the firing line over Betika deal

Betika betting company the official sponsors of Afc leopards have written to AFC leopards seeking clarification on a letter allegedly authored by club SG Gilbert Andugu.

According to a letter seen by www.goodmorning.kenya.com, the club through its Ceo authored a letter instructing Betika Kenya  to be paying both players and TB directly. This letter was in essence trying to amend  the initial contract that AFC entered into with the international betting firm.

Upon receiving the instructions Betika called the club president Dan Shikanda who to his amazement had no clue on what was happening.

According to social media reports, Shikanda was kept in the dark only getting wind of the letter from Betika.

Upon reaching out to club Ceo Mr Victor Bwibo, the instructions to write to Betika came from the club SG.

“Iam employed by the club and therefore I cannot turn down or refuse to obey instructions especially from the SG who is my immidiate  supervisor.Yes I did the letter requesting Betika to pay players salaries directly as per Mr Andugu’s requests” said Bwibo.

This very act is threatening to disturb the club’s relationship with the sponsor Betika Kenya. What if betika departs?

We have tried to delve delve deeper into this only to unravel some very disturbing issues.

When Shikanda became chairperson during his first regime, sportpesa exited which forced him to device ways of staying a float. Some of the measures included but not limited to sourcing for a club’s financial mobilizer.

One Mr Enos Motokaa was ready and willing to work as a markerting director to help the club find its financial footing. However to do this, he needed money or to be on payslip which AFC was not ready and able to foot. So they agreed on working out a contract where for every sponsor or financial gain he brings on board, he receives his 10%.

Besides Betika Enos has worked hard to help the club meet its financial obligations. It is upon bringing the Betila deal that some remarkable elements in NEC so it fit not to honor the 10% deal hence Andugu’s letter to Betika.

All these machinations are aimed at denying Enos his 10% which he effortlessly worked for. It must be noted that Enos is not demanding anything over and above what they agreed.

Any sound member should ask this, Did Enos single handedly source for a sponsor? If yes, then why not honor his contractual obligations?

Andugu is therefore guilty of acts of deliberate omissions and commission.
