Win the AFCON or refund the money put in the team – Guinean president to the national team

probably have ever heard of how Ugandan president Idi Amin in the 1970’s allegedly used to threaten sportsmen to return as winners or seek citizenship elsewhere if they lost.
True or false Ugandan sportsmen really performed well in that era, however it’s in the 21st century and somewhere in West Africa, a certain country’s national team will play under pressure after being threatened by the President.

Guinea Conakry’s football team the Syli Nacional was told by the interim president Colonel Mamady Doumbouya to either win the AFCON or refund the money injected into the team.

“The cup, or you reimburse the money that’s been invested in you,” he said to the team at their sending off meeting.

Guinea will be playing in their 13th edition of the AFCON and will be led by Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita.
The country has never won the trophy and are no where near favorites but this is not to be bought by Colonel Doumbouya.
They will be looking to do a Zambia shocker of 2011 when they won the AFCON against a star studded Ivory Coast.
The farthest they have ever gone was in 1976 when they were runners up.

Guinea are in Group B alongside Senegal, Malawi and Zimbabwe.
