Seth Panyako: Uhuru should sack Kagwe and Mochache over graft.

Trade unionist and Kenya National Union of Nurses Secretary General Seth Panyako has asked Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe and Principal Secretary Susan Mochache to step down over alleged embezzlement of Covid-19 funds in the Ministry of Health

The fiery trade unionist was speaking today in Kakamega where he loudly wondered why Kagwe was still in office yet millions have been embezzled under his watch.

” We call upon the president to fire Kagwe and Mochache over the covid 19 heist. We cannot purport to be fighting graft when the two are at the core of a grand health scandal as our people more so our frontline soldiers die of covid 19″ Said Panyako.

Mr Panyako further called on investogative urgencies and county oversight team by MCA’s to call Oparanya to account over covid 19 cash.

“We know want Oparanya to tell us how this money was used especially since there is no lab to test for coronavirus, there are no reagents yet the money was disbursed,” Panyako said

He called for a thorough probe on how Kenya spent the money given by foreign donors for the battle against Covid-19.

CS Kagwe and PS Mochache were recently linked to procurement irregularities at the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) by the suspended agency’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jonah Manjari.

Mr Manjari told the senate adhoc commottee on covid 19 that he received instructions from Cs Kagwe and Ps Mochache on direct procurement despite it being an illegal enterprise.

Kemsa is said to have procured Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) at a double market price
