ANC party in ICU as Mudavadi allies languish in cold 9 months later

During the ANC party’s NDC held at Bomas of Kenya where Earthquake Mudavadi happened, the party and its leadership’s ranking shot high.

This culminated later into both ANC and her twin Ford Kenya led by the current speaker of the national assembly Hon Moses Wetangula officially joining Ruto in what later became Kenya Kwanza Alliance which faced off with Raila’s Azimio coalition.

Those around Mudavadi started dreaming of good tidings to come considering that Mudavadi had been in the cold since 2013 when he contested for presidency and lost to Uhuruto in 2013 before changing tact and joining the NASA coalition of Raila and Kalonzo where the same fate befell him.

These 10 solid years in the cold had taken toll on Mudavadi’s yalists and when Kenya Kwanza under Ruto formed government, life on the other side of the pasture looked very promising. This however did not materialise as most of those who toiled and worked with Mudavadi continue to languish in joblessness walking the streets of Nairobi and corridors of treasury house hoping to catch his eye.

Whereas some are boldly speaking up, some are silently ditching the party for UDA. One such person is Matoke who after all his efforts to meet the Prime Cabinet secretary hit a snag he quietly met education CS Mochogu who quickly delivered him to Rigathi Gachagua. With the exit of Matoke, a Mudavadi diehard from Kisii region, it goes without saying that kisii has left ANC.

No government opportunities have been made available to most of Mudavadi loyalists.

In the recent government appointments, Moses Wetangula seem to be the darling of the executive. Most of the appointees are his loyalist. On this Mudavadi is scoring little even as his people get nothing or fringe government appointments. One such person is Godfrey Kanoti. Mr Kanoti has been a constant figure in all Mudavadi meetings since 2015 when ANC was formed. He was such an authority that his word or his tweets  could give a preview of what Mudavadi was thinking. Before joining NASA, Kanoti, Okwaro and Chelangat’s cars were enough to make Mudavadi’s convoy anywhere he went. Many people had conceptualized in their minds that should Mudavadi become President, these three could wield enough power at statehouse with Kanoti as statehouse comptroller. Alas, 9 month later Kanoti is still lining up at the treasury seeking to have an appointment with Mudavadi a man who not long ago was having tea with him anytime. Okwaro is still recovering from the shock of spending his fortune popularizing Ruto with no reward incoming while Chelangat is nursing the wounds of not going to UDA direct instead going through ANC. Recently Kanoti was given a job as Uwezo Fund board member which he politely turned down.

This was an act of protest from Kanoti which has kept people talking.

Kanoti vied on ANC in Kwisero but lost against incumbent Aseka Miradi of ODM. This was against the backdrop of a combined force of Atwoli and Oparanya. Mudavadi ought to have rewarded Kanoti with a plum government job so that come 2027, he will have marshalled enough financial strengths to wrestle the seat from ODM. This is not happening which make us wonder if indeed Mudavadi is in the business of nurturing ANC for 2032 or he has silently joined UDA” wondered an ANC member.

Godfrey Kanoti and Hon Mudavadi arriving in a past event.

Besides walking with Mudavadi through thick and thin, Godfrey Kanoti is the founder of Kenya Kwanza and even records show that he is the one who reserved the coalitions name. How then is it hard to reward such a hard working guy?

Nathaniel Akadima in a past event with Mudavadi in Mugirangu.

Besides Kanoti, some of the people who were closer or were deemed closer to Mudavadi but still in the cold include Moses Oburu, Omullo Junior the party’s director of political affairs and Nathaniel Akadima the director of iCT and candidate in Mogirangu 2022 on ANC.

One wonders a party that packaged itself as pro youth, and even boasted of having the youngest SG Simon Kamau Gikuru who has since been replaced by Emuhaya MP Omboko Milemba cannot embrace and reward its young soldiers like Omullo and Akadima just to name but a few.

Mudavadi’s  exit as Party leader and subsequent coronation of Issa Timamy as heir has further cast doubt on Mudavadi’s ability to lay hold of the party from his position  as  prime cabinet secretary. Many party adherents believe ANC is in a very critical condition and with time the party will fold and join UDA.

It is easy to access Ruto and Rigathi than Mudavadi.

To add salt into the wound, party faithful are lamenting that it is so hard to access their former boss. Many say they would rather seek audience with Rigathi or Ruto than waste time at the treasury building where Mudavadi is currently housed.

It is easy to meet Ruto and Rigathi than Mudavadi. This is a guy we have been toiling with in seeking the power he is currently enjoying. With most of us his loyal soldiers still on the streets, we are yet to realize the fruits of our hard labor”  he continued.

We are really having it hard out here, we gave our all in rallying behind our leader Hon Mudavadi in propelling the Ruto agenda. We took a bullet for him when it was not fashionable to do so, we traversed the entire country with Mudavadi and Ruto. At one time we came under a hail of stones in Kibra and we had to use our bodies as shields for Mudavadi. It is a pity that we haven’t been recognised or  rewarded. Our counterparts who worked with both Ruto  and Rigathi are deployed in different areas of our government. For us the long wait continues even as we endure ridicule from those who opposed us” a disgruntled member of Mudavadi’s team lamented.

A lazy walk the streets of Nairobi and especially areas around city hall, one may be excused to think that mucombine Mudavadi will be visiting. This is because his civillian team of security personnel who were so instrumental during the campaigns comprising of Kennedy, Jirongo, Vincent and Steve are forever patrolling the streets wearing a mean look. A sad reminder of how such dedicated team of men have been forgotten what swahilis call “kuzikwa kwa kaburi la sahau”. As the list of disgruntled soldiers grow bigger and bigger the silent whispers are growing with a majority of these guys seeking to follow Cleophas Malala to UDA while others are sending a come get me signal to Wetangula’s Ford K.party.

~a disgruntled former team Mudavadi member almost took his life a fortnight ago at CeC Brian Mulama’s offices at city hall annexe’s 9th floor . The party youth leader was frustrated that his calls and efforts to meet Mudavadi were futile sighting frustrations from Diru and Ken Onacha who are both relatives of Mudavadi~

The civilians who were providing security for Mudavadi during the campaigns are enough proof that all is not well at ANC and Mudavadi’s camp. The musclemen have not been considered for any job. They are still roaming the streets of Nairobi never mind some of them got injured in the line of duty. These guys are a constant reminder that politics is one kind of a joke game where leaders forget about their comrades once they cross to the other side. Those who toiled day and night are battling depression while some like Okwaro who cleaned up their banks are only struggling to feed their families.

As all these unfold, the self styled Papa Wa Roma is slowly encroaching on Mudavadi’s stronghold in Kakamega and Vihiga. Most of the MPs from Vihiga and Kakamega are now warming upto Wetangula an indication that 2027 Ford Kenya will be the party of choice in Luhyaland even as ANC fortunes dwindles.
