Edwin Sifuna simmering ODM exit : Atwoli & Mbadi planning a coup at secretary general office.
While Edwin Sifuna is seen as a happy man, a man who is comfortable & secure at his work, the opposite is true as that appearance is far from the truth.
Rumors are hot that he is unwanted man at the top of ODM. Many people don’t rank him as strong or a wise Secretary general compared to his predecessors like Ababu or Anyang Nyo’ngo. Since he took over from Zani, ODM has been outwitted in many political contests.
ODM has lost clout with every passing day. Edwin Sifuna doesn’t inspire intelligence or confidence, he has been accused of being too confrontational, erratic, egoistical and brags of a ghetto attitude style to solving issues at ODM.
Put under pressure, he can reveal hidden secrets because of a loose tongue. He has always said a lot of nothing using a lot of words where decorum demanded he says nothing or just say a word! He has used a lot of energy to kill a mosquito on his balls.
For instance, whenever ANC has had an indifferent opinion to ODM or Baba, Edwin Sifuna has taken it as a personal matter, he has gone overboard in trying to excute his points, he has abused instead of seeming witty, he has reduced the ODM secretary general position into a shouting match without substance.
He has said things that embarrass rather than state or uplift the status of the party that proud itself as the largest in the country. He has lacked the character of a charismatic leader his predecessors won many hearts with. He has not raised ODM bar higher as was expected and this forms part of a wedge among many other reasons there is a spirited effort to replace him before 2022 general elections.
Also this is part of a grand scheme to depopulate Luhya positions in ODM. It’s said that ODM has become another Luhya party where, Sifuna Luhya, Oparanya Luhya, Musungu Luhya, Etale Luhya, Aladwa Luhya, Nairobi youth leader Luhya. Other communities are complaining is ODM another Luhya party, these positions needs to be shared.
That’s why Mbadi has been meeting Atwoli for advice. And it’s said that, if you see Atwoli a Kanu life member and Mbadi talking in low tones about ODM changes, then know that Baba is behind it. Baba doesn’t enjoy it when Sifuna is bringing his party into disarray.
It’s expected that, Sifuna will have vacated before the year ends, because he has not added any value to ODM and if not replaced, he will cause serious disinformation to nomination certificate to the highest bidder just as he did with Kibra.
