As His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Leader Raila Odinga has called on Senators to adopt the third basis formula for sharing revenue among counties in order to allow for the disbursement of the funds. The Deputy President who always says he supports the President and his agenda should have backed the government policy long before The Former Prime Minister.
The support should not only come because he forms the presidency but for the benefit of the majority of Kenyans, otherwise this is preaching water and drinking wine.
The 11th session of the Intergovernmental Budget and Economic Council held on 29th January 2019 and chaired by the Deputy President H.E. William Ruto, gave the opportunity to County Governments to advocate for increased budgetary allocation by the National Government.
What happened?Until now The Deputy President has not declared his support to CRA Formula; One man one vote one shilling. Him not supporting the CRA is hypocritical with divisive intentions among Kenyans: densily populated vs less populated areas.
If he really loves the people from Central, Rift valley, Western and Nyanza among other regions he should be on the frontline to support, mediate and align his Tanga Tanga team into supporting the bill.
Otherwise the deputy president is deceiving the majority of Central people who he assumes to hold on him all through to 2022.In less than 24 hrs, we will know ‘mbivu na mbichi’.Among the three: We will know who has the interests of Wanjiku and who play politics at the expense of the same Wanjiku.
We will know who is a true patriot to the people of central and who is planting the bad seed of divisiveness and continued low revenue allocation among the people from the slopes despite being the great contributor of the same.
