Speaking to www.goodmorningkenya.com news on an account of anonymity, the source said Gov. Wycliffe Oparanya called former Lugari legislator to a meeting sometime this week, and intention of the subject matter, to convince Cyrus Jirongo to join Oparanya Atwoli Mulembe Nation for Raila 2022 choir.
The source that was privy to the ongoings, said Cyrus Jirongo listened to Kakamega Gov. speak, and when he had finished, Hon. Cyrus Jirongo told him, ” Hon. Governor Oparanya, thank you for inviting me for such a wonderful meeting but if your considered intention here is to draft me into joining you and Cotu boss to support Hon. Raila Odinga for 2022, please that is a request I will not be a party to it” ” Right now the former prime minister cannot be sold in Luhya Nation as a presidential candidate against Hon. Mudavadi. It will be a waste of time, energy, and resources” the Source said.
He further told the Governor for Kakamega county to read the mood on the ground and listen to conversations among the Mulembe Nation people before they proceed with their choice for the presidency. ” You can have people for some time to support you but you can’t have their support always” ” From where I stand, I feel Mulembe Nation is backing Hon. Mudavadi for Presidency but not Hon. Raila Odinga” the Source further said.
The source continued to report that, the Governor said, ” Kindly consider standing with the former prime minister for the last time my brother Cj” His request fell on deaf ears as the former sharpshooting Lugari Mp continued to distance himself from the Governor’s request. The Governor for Kakamega county was shocked as cold water was poured on his request and expectations in the meeting.
The CJ told the Governor, ” In due time the Mulembe Nation is going to make their declaration about 2022 and for sure it will not be the former Prime minister” The meeting ended as the Governor took himself away with his wheels while the former Lugari Legislator moved away from the scene with his wheels.
This development comes right behind the statement made by the Political analyst Mr. Martin Andati who while speaking to The Star newspaper said that The western Kenya voting block has shifted widely from the former Prime minister.
He said, ODM, and especially under the leadership of the current Governor the party has dramatically lost its footing in the rich vote region. He continued to say that ODM is being led by unpopular people and mentioned the recent changes where Philip Kutima was replaced by Shinyalu Mp, Hon. Justus Mugalia.
He told The Star that these changes have weakened an already weak party in the region. The Shinyalu Mp lacks the charismatics skills to galvanize the Mulembe Nation in Kakamega County.
If you compare Senator Malala who represents ANC and Hon. Musalia Mudavadi and Hon. Justus Kizito who represents ODM and Hon. Raila Odinga, the disparity is like light and darkness. Hon. Kizito cannot outsmart Senator Malala in Kakamega politics.
Senator Malala is a super political firebrand than Hon. Kizito and with such a simple comparison, you can understand why ODM has already lost Kakamega County ANC vs ODM battle. So the idea of Oparanya & Atwoli Mulembe Nation for Raila 2022 choir is null and void.
