Events in Luhya politics continue to interest and amaze in equal measure.
Ever since Dr Atwoli hosted over 40 leaders from Luhya land at his Kajiado home and gave Gov Oparanya and Cs Wamalwa the mantle to chart the community’s development agenda, things have never been rossy for the flamboyant trade unionist.
Dagoretti North Anc politician Mr Bernard Shilibwa waded into the murky luhya unity debate with Dr Atwoli on the receiving end.
According to our sources, Mr Shilibwa threatened to deal with Dr Atwoli over what he termed as ” disorganizing luhya politics”.
It is this utterances that Dr Atwoli did not take lightly and sought Shilibwa’s clarification.
On Thursday, the DCI summoned Shilibwa and grilled him for over 6hrs.
It is not clearly established what the grilling entailed.
Our efforts to reach Shilibwa for comment were fruitless as all our calls went unanswered.
However one of his handlers said that Shilibwa was not keen on commenting on a matter that are still under investigation.
“It is true the boss (Shilibwa) was summoned by Dci over Atwoli issue but right now we are here at Treasure Gardens and he wishes not to comment about it for now” a close ally said.
Shilibwa vied as Mp in Dagoretti North on Anc party and came third behind Odm’s Simba Arati and Jubilee’s Beatrice Elachi.
Shilibwa is considered an ally of Hon Mudavadi and his pointman in Dagoretti North.
Shilibwa is an unapologetic believer and defender of Mudavadi.
