Race to replace Sonko populates as Ahmednasir Abdullahi SC declares bid.

As the race to beat the deadline for aspirants to replace the impeached governor hots up, controversial Laywer Ahmednasir Abdullahi SC has thrown the spanner in the works as he announces his grand entry into murky city politics.

Ahmednasir Abdullahi SC

The lawyer who is known for flamboyancy and too much opinion on anything and everything believes he is the right candidate for the vacant seat. It will be interesting to see how he will intertwine his busy schedule with the rough and tough needs of Nairobi politics.

Whether he has the acumen city dwellers are looking for or not, one thing is for sure, the self declared grand Mullah has no stamina and stature to wrestle with hardcore politicians who are ring fencing city politics. Nairobi politics is not made for soft looking politicians, it has been designed to look like, you must be hard than hammer for you to cut a name for yourself in the city.

Grand Mullah is respected for too much law in the courts but out here and especially for city politics, Grand Mullah is a newbie who will need to learn city ropes too fast or quickly in order to catch up with the likes of Magret Wanjiru, Denis Waweru, Peter Kenneth or for that matter Beatrice Elachi. Nairobi voters don’t enjoy too much English, and as one takes a critical look at grand Mullah views on politics, coupled with too much and too big English, he will be an impossible pet to sell.

So far the race has attracted who is who in city and the coming of the grand Mullah on the table will complicate the already filled political tray. Every community in the city is angling to replace the vacant position and it will be an honor for the Muslim community who have heavily invested in the city to have a say in city leadership.

Whether the Grand Mullah is pulling a fast one by publishing a poster for Nairobi governorship or not, on thing remains, the people of Nairobi are looking for an able person, a person who will raise the status of the city and give the office respect and honor it deserves.
