Three Killed in Chamakanga /Sabatia over Robbery

Three people suspected to be robbers were on Thursday, April 23, killed by Chamakanga
villagers in Sabatia constituency after they
allegedly broke into locals houses and
vandalised items.

Residents of Chamakanga village which is just a stone throw a way from Mululu’s home of Mudavadi has been registering several cases of robbery and the heavy rains have even made the case worse.

According to Sabatia Subcounty
OCPD Charles Mutheu, the three
were caught red handed at around 4am as they broke into the house.

Mutheu further unveiled that the unknown

“The fiery villagers were brought to
attention by victims alarm, they woke up and reacted on the bandits, killing two on
the spot and the third succumbed amid
being taken to Vihiga referral hospital for
medication,” Mutheu said.

A few days ago, robbers stormed Mudete market of Sabatia
constituency stealing property of unknown value despite having a dawn to dusk curfew
in place.
The bodies of the three are lying at Vihiga District and
referral hospital morgue Mbale for preservation
and postmortem.
Cases of insecurity across the country have
been rife since Friday, March 27, when
President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered the
nationalwide dusk to dawn curfew.

Vihiga county woman rep Hon Beatrice Adagala has called on the police to intensify patrols and ensure residents are safe.

“National police service should intensify their operation and ensure our people are well protected. Mothers cannot carry on their daily chores well when their security is not guaranteed” Adagala said
