Senator Godfrey Osotsi Urges Timely Payment to Community Health Promoters, Reaffirms Commitment to Equitable Resource Allocation for Vihiga

June 2, 2025

Vihiga County — Senator Godfrey Osotsi has called on the Vihiga County Government to fast-track the disbursement of pending payments owed to Community Health Promoters (CHPs) before the end of the current financial year.

Speaking at the Ikobero Salvation Army Church in Busali Ward during a spirit-filled worship and fellowship service, Senator Osotsi emphasized the critical role CHPs play in strengthening the county’s primary healthcare system.

“Our Community Health Promoters are the backbone of grassroots healthcare. Ensuring they are paid fairly and on time is not just a matter of policy—it’s a matter of respect and sustainability,” the Senator said.

He also welcomed the recent release of delayed funds by the National Government, praising the move as a positive step toward addressing urgent community needs.

Later in the day, Hon. Osotsi attended a mini harambee at Siekuti Catholic Church in Muhudu Ward. Addressing the congregation, he reiterated his firm commitment to advocating for Vihiga County’s rightful share in the upcoming national revenue-sharing formula.

“Vihiga must not be left behind. Equitable allocation of national resources must reflect the real and pressing needs of our people,” he stated.

Senator Osotsi, who has declared his intention to run for Vihiga Governor in 2027, continues to anchor his vision for the county on a foundation of faith, service, and inclusive development.
