Tom Alila : Engage stakeholders before releasing elections roadmap Fkf told

Veteran soccer administrator and presidential aspirant in the forthcoming FKF elections Mr Tom Alila has asked Fkf to fully engage stakeholders before announcing new roadmap for elections.

Reacting to a press release yesterday by Fkf signed by Kentice Tikolo as chairman of the elections board, Mr Alila questioned the hurry with which Fkf was moving with without engaging stakeholders.

“We all want elections held but elements of free and fair election must be adhered to. As stakeholders we have not been involved in the preparations save for the press release running in a section of media yesterday and besides where is the Fifa letter that Tikolo and Mwendwa are premising their press release?”Alila said.

While nullifying last year’s branch elections, Ohaga said:-

Sdt chairman Mr Ohaga.

“Whereas FKF claims to have engaged stakeholders, it has failed to demonstrate what steps it took to ensure adequate, timely and reasonable access of the Electoral Code to its members.”

Ohaga further took issue with Elyna Shiveka’s involvement and said:-

“We hold that Elynah Shiveka is not eligible to sit in the Electoral Board. The Board is thus, improperly constituted by virtue of Shiveka and Edwin Wamukoya sitting in it. It is the improperly incostituted board that received nominations for candidature for elections of all posts within FKF”.

It is at the strengths of the above that Mr Alila feels that without fully engaging soccer stakeholders, the forthcoming elections will be an excercise in futility.

“Last time a section of soccer stakeholders namely Jared Ondiek, Alex Magelo,Sam Nyamweya,Steve Mburu,Moses Akaranga and Angeline Mwilali successfully urgued and won on the principle of free and fair elections. They questioned the composition of the elections board, voting register, and against a law requiring candidates to get endorsements from clubs and branches which the tribunal also termed as ‘draconian’. We dont want loops- holes that will expose this process to further coartroom battles but unfortunately that is where Nick Mwendwa is leading us to” said Mr Alila.

Mr Tom Alila has intensified his engagements with delegates in preparation for the FKF elections as soon as they are called.

“We are ready for polls but we want a free and fair process so that whoever wins, he receives the goodwill to take soccer to the next level” Tom Alila added
