Chris Bahati or simply Chris Baha as he is fondly known by friends in the neighborhood is a young man born and brought up in Chavakali ward.
Chris spent his formative years at Halombove Primary school before joining Chavakali boys for his KCSE.
Mr. Bahati believes that his upbringing coupled with the current political climate makes this time ripe for him to venture into politics to help improve the lives of his people.
But Why Chavakali Ward?
’’ My zeal to run for an elective seat in Chavakali ward of Sabatia sub county is informed by the thirst in my heart to serve my people and help bring about change. I believe leadership is a calling and therefore leaders should always stick to their pre-election promises and serve mwananchi better’’ say Bahati.
Our people in Chavakali are faced with a myriad of problems that subsequent regimes have not yet sorted yet resources have been made available to them. For instance, the road network in the entire ward is in a sorry state, insecurity is and youths unemployment which is the single most contributor to the high crime rate’’ adds Bahati.

Bahati believes that although Chavakali and Vihiga at large has limited farmland, the little land resources available can be utilized to the maximum.
”we all understand the challenges brought about by the scarcity of land here in our county but it is about time we ventured into commercial small scale farming where we can have vegetables, fruits, chicken rearing which all need very small areas to thrive and then market our products to the nearby towns of Kisumu and Kakamega. If we can all rally our youth to revert back to farming, we can reduce idleness which is the main breeding ground for crime and other anti-social behaviours’ says Bahati.
Mr. Bahati has been at the forefront of rallying the good people of Chavakali into harnessing their potential to ensure that they realize the full potential of the vast good that Sabatia is offering.
For instance, Bahati has initiated a lishe Mashinani initiative where he has been sharing foodstuffs to locals and masks and sanitizers during these hard covid 19 times.
On BBI Chris had this to say…
The proposed amendments on BBI are essential for the growth of our counties. I fully support the initiative and I have been doing my duty in trying to sensitize my people to fully rally behind it.
Our Party leader Hon Mudavadi who by the grace of God shall become the 5th president of this nation raised pertinent issues during the formative stages of BBI and were put into considerations. As his supporters and members of ANC, we have endeavored to support him.
