As the numbers of confirmed covid 19 cases keep rising, the sprawling Kawangware slums remain a hot spot with 14 cases as of 30/4/2020.
Most if not all the cases have emanated from Kawangware route 46 specifically from a Gate Grey apartment.
Below read a report from a person who squarely blames the health ministry.
The Health Ministry should not be absolved from the increase of COVID 19 cases reported in Kawangware.
When the Priest who had travelled from Italy was arrested for defying self quarantine orders, a gentleman from a plot named “Grey Gate” just next to Delta Petrol station showed symptoms of the virus and informed the Health team that he had come into contact with the Priest in the funeral he had attended.
The Health officials allowed him to self quarantine at his second floor house where they constantly monitored him .
However neighbours raised an alarm that he was always sending neighbours and relatives to buy him food stuffs and other requirements and requested for his removal from the premises.
But he remained indoors for 14 days before they eventually moved him out.
Now am told that despite the plot receiving constant fumigation by health officials who have permanently stationed some of their officers there who monitor and regulate visitors 4 new cases were reported from Grey gate
As a result the ministry now plans mass testing in Kawangware due to their earlier negligence
From the above account, saving Kawangware will take God’s hand the human hand slept on duty as the virus took root.
So far Kawangware has recorded 14 covid 19 confirmed cases.
