Speaking to Citizen TV JKL yesterday, the former Chief Justice decried cheap fanatic following in the country afforded to various leaders including politicians but not limited to religious leaders. He said the country Kenya was captured by the British and since the struggle by the Mau Mau, that capture has not actually left.
The new capture is by the Africans barons who succeeded the British and their capture has been here for the last 57 years and untying the capture will also take a big amount of energy and time. He also said that he doesn’t know what he meant by the Metaphor- Bandit Economy but what he simply meant was, Kenya is an economy that is not planned.
He said, ” Look at how Nairobi is planned, houses coming up too quickly, it’s like people are in Money laundering business, the people who are ruling are not the people who were elected. There are external forces countrolling the country for their own interests” He said all cartels are known and even the president can take a phone and call them and tell them to stop doing what they are doing.
But that kind of action is very difficult to do because some of these cartels are very powerful they can make it impossible for the president to rule. It is a catch 22 situation. Kenya revolves around the big five communities and the barons from the communities have held the country captive.
For example, ” Former Govern Waititu had no baron to protect him unlike Governor Obado who had one despite facing serious corruption allegations”. He also said, ” The hustler vs Dynasty debate is a wrong narrative for the country. The promoters of this debate are only playing division politics that they have played since independence”
He further said, ” The British Government and Kenyan Government know where the leader of Mau Mau, the late Dedan Kimathi was buried. But for various political reasons, they can’t show the public his grave for fear, the graveside might become s shrine for Mau Mau regrouping.”
He further said, ” I don’t understand why Prophet Owour enjoys a special status than Jesus Christ on earth. In his days, no one swept and washed the road or path for Jesus yet the followers of Owour are giving him special treatment” Why?
