Kakamega Governor Wycliff Oparanya to ditch ODM and join new KANU, Oparanya will be Gideon Moi’s Deputy for 2022 Presidential elections

For a few months Kakamega Governor has been running around Western Region trying to galvanize the Luhya community to rally behind him and CS for Devolution Eugene Wamalwa.

Wycliff Oparanya is facing stiff competition in ODM for the presidential nomination. The governor believes that ODM will frustrate his bid and that Rtd Prime Minister Raila Odinga will be on the ballot as ODM presidential candidate.

An insider in Oparanya camp said, ” Raila Odinga will be on the ballot and he Oparanya knows the inner workings of ODM, Raila will be on the ballot and the governor believes that he can’t hack as a deputy or get the presidential nomination.”

Gideon Moi and COTU Chariman Francis Atwoli at Kabarak

Gideon Moi got the boost after COTU Chairman a KANU life member made head ways by convincing Oparanya that his best bet would be to deputize Gideon Moi.

There has been whispers in State House that Gideon Moi was the best bet for 2022 election.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is silently backing Gideon Moi, in 2002 the late president Daniel Torotich Arap Moi backed Uhuru Kenyatta as his preferred heir.

Its believed President Uhuru Kenyatta will be returning the favour to the Moi’s by handing them the presidency.

COTU Chairman Francis Atwoli led Oparanya and CS Euegene Wamalwa to Gideon Moi’s home at Kabarak.

Oparanya said, “We discussed on a wide range of issues affecting the country and agreed to support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s vision for a united country.

We will work with all like minded leaders to ensure a developed and united country.”

The leaders who attended the meeting in Kabarak are Devolution Cabinet Secretary Hon Eugene Wamalwa, COTU Secretary General brother Francis Atwoli, National Assembly Majority Chief Whip Hon Emmanuel Wangwe.
