A one day old child rescued from a pit latrine by Kawangware youths led by Simon Tiema

Drama unfolded today at Kawangware 56 area  where a one day old kid was rescued from a pit latrine.

Simon Tiema a local youth leader narrated to www.goodmorningKenya.com what transpired.
“I was at chiefs area for I work closely with local  administation on matters of community policing when the Muslim area chief received a call from 56 area where a one day kid was heard crying from a pit latrine.I quickly swung into action and upon arriving I confirmed that the sound was coming from a a live  being. Together with friends Patrick,Muthiora and Kiongozi Halisi Muninga, we drilled a side hole into the pit latrine and amazingly the kid was still alive even after spending over 2hours in the pit latrine”

said Tiema simon.

“Upon rescuing the kid from the pit, we quickly took it to Wema hospital where first aid and cleaning was done. Together with Martha from Raiko group, we managed to get some warm clothings and also Wema hospital gave us some baby shawls. From there we made some frantic calls to PLAn and some other agencies . With the advice from our local chief, we proceeded to Kenyatta hospital and both the doctors and nurses were at hand to save the baby’s life before even asking for money and other admission protoals. We thank God this far and pray that the kid we be well” added Tiema.

At the plot where the kid was rescued from, tenants are still in shock with some even shifting.

“It is true life is hard and covid 19 has made things even more harder.But I want to urge my fellow youth and the public at large to value the sanctity of life as given freely to us by God” Tiema concluded
