As Nick Mwendwa, the founder of Kariobangi Sharks makes all the noise of big money & BetKing sponsorship, we can authoritatively reveal that, Sharks players are still unpaid for almost half a year.
The players have never received even a cent from the Sharks management since the league took a break due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This is despite the fact that they enjoy the sponsorship of gaming firm BetWay and have now gotten another source of revenue through the new BetKing league sponsorship.
A player who sought anonymity due to the fear of being victimized had this to say,
“We have never received even a cent from the club. Since the Covid-19 set in the management does not talk to us. They do not care whether we eat or if our houses are locked. Personally I have no rent and my wife has even left my home. It is sad. We need some help.”
It is unclear why the Sharks players have not been paid yet the team is receiving the money from two companies. Our calls went unanswered as we tried reaching the C.e.o to a certain why the situation has persisted. Nevertheless , we are still trying to reach a reliable source in the management for a comment.
