Musalia Mudavadi : Raila & Ruto will not be my Running Mate

Musalia sat in his office to give interview to Citizen TV journalist yesterday. Through the interview, it’s evident that Hon. Musalia Mudavadi knows problems facing this nation are not constitutional. In his view, he has classified Kenya’s current problem as Economy, Economy and Economy, nothing but Economy.
While the journalist wanted to understand if the constitution has a problem, the ANC leader said, ” Let’s not blame the document. Our constitution is not perfect but I don’t think if it’s the country’s top priority now. Some politicians should not lie to Kenyans that the country’s priority is amending the constitution. I don’t think it is the constitution”
He said those with responsibility to implement it, have not been very sincere. They have not done it whole heartedly. They have left out some articles and clauses deliberately so as to use these articles and clauses to wield power at the central government. Many services have been devolved to the county governments but resources to service these services still remains in the hands of national government.
On corruption the ANC boss called on president Uhuru Kenyatta to form a commission of inquiry to look into the scandals that have eaten the Health sector. The ministry of health has been implicated in mega scandals time and again thus according to ANC boss, the only solution out is to have a judicial commission of inquiry to investigate this department and recommend way forward.
On revenue allocation debate by the Senate, Hon. Mudavadi said, the central government holds on to 85 percent of 3 trillion budget and giving only 10 percent of it for the county governments. He said, Senators should not box and kick each other for 10 percent of a 3 Trillion budget, they should work with parliament and devolve more money to counties.
With 2022 insight, the ANC leader was categorical I will run in 2022, I will be on the ballot God willing. He was asked whether he will be anyone’s running mate, and he said, that’s is a big NO. He said he will choose his on running mate, and no one should expect that he will be his running mate. Asked whether Raila can be his running, ANC said, a running mate should be someone you agree with on many ideologies. He said he wouldn’t want to have a scenario where his deputy has extreme differences with him, because that will impair daily activities of the government.
He said he will not either be a running mate for Deputy President, he knows Ruto is going for presidency so he is a competitor and he will meet him on the ballot. He also decried wide publicised deep state narratives. He said the impact of this narrative is voter apathy. This narrative will disillusion voters, because there will a notion that, there is a predetermined choice and result and no voter will wake up and vote.
