A NAIROBI MCA RESCUES A LADY FROM SELLING HER 2YR OLD KID FOR LACK OF MONEY DUE TO COVID 19

Ever since Kenya confirmed it’s first covid 19 case, many lives have changed. As lives change, we have seen the emergence of a new crop of leaders who have gone out of their way to serve humanity.

In Makadara constituency in Nairobi,Bahati- Hamza /Maringo ward has one such selfless leader Hon Mark Ndung’u fondly called Mark Tosha by his supporters.

The Jubilee member for Hamza/Maringo ward was elected on the banner of “Local problems local solution” this clarion call came in handy on Saturday afternoon when a young lady posted on Makadara facebook forum that she was selling her two yr old son for lack of money to buy food and pay rent.

” Nani anataka kuuziwa mtoi wa 2yrs. I have nothing to give to him my number is 0758467723 niko maringo.” the update on fb read.

On the same thread, Elizabeth Matave David added.
“Hello people Iam in a condition that is not ezplainable for now. I was in a biashara but ikaenda down, with corona virus things have been even harder for me. Forgive me …….” the update read in part.

At this juncture Hon Mark Ndung’u jumped behind the wheel and quickly drove to Maringo where the lady was and after empathizing with her and encouraging her, paid for her the outstanding rent arrears and bought the lady enough food to last her several weeks.

Speaking to Goodmorning Kenya Mark Tosha had these to say,
” It is true that our people are suffering due to covid 19 effects, it pains my heart to see a family go without food. As a leader I wish I had enough to share with all of them but unfortunately Iam limited but as God blesses me, I cannot afford to see my sisters and brothers sleep on an empty stomach” Mark Tosha said.

Hon Ndung’u further adds that he learnt the virtue of helping others from her late mother who rested over 25 yrs ago.

“I dont know how to thank Hon Mark Tosha, I was at the verge of giving up and God sent him just on time, we could be having a different story now. God bless you and your family, at least we still have leaders who dont look at tribe or gender. Mark Tosha is a true brother because even my family abandoned me when I got this kid” Elizabeth said as she thanked Hon Mark Ndung’u.
Pressure is now mounting for the MCA to consider running for Mp seat Makadara even as area Mp Hon Aladwa is going for Nairobi governorship.
