Governor Sonko’s takes Covid19 war to the slums

Away from city politics, Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has taken the fight against corona virus to the city slums.

Do you remember the story of Grace Wanjiru from Madoya area in Huruma estate, who has been improvising face masks using kitchen towels and then donates to other kids in her neighborhood ?

She’s now distributing face masks, hand sanitizers, soaps and other items to help in combating the deadly coronavirus.

Govermor Sonko donated 5,000 face masks, hand sanitizers and other items to the 10-year old girl after he was touched by her story.
Sonko team will also be giving her a weekly supply of 5,000 masks to help in combating COVID-19.

The Nairobi county governor has also been carying out fumigation excercise in city estates.

When Sonko is not fumigating at night, he is busy donating foodstuffs to the vulnerable members of the community around city slums.
