Governor Sakaja has appointed his 3rd county secretary in a span of two years.
Upon assuming office, Sakaja worked with Dr Jairus Musumba. Musumba tenure was short lived as county MCAs failed to approve his nomination prompting Sakaja to appoint city planner Patrick Analo as county CS albeit on acting capacity.
For over one year, Patrick Analo who doubled up as chief officer Urban planning was his trusted servant helping him oversee the smooth running of the county.

It is however worthy noting that Analo’s tenure was smooth and without blame which has begged the question why replace him at such an hour instead of condfirming the infatigible servant. That is a question that only the governor can respond to.
Exit Analo enter Godfrey Akumali.

Replacing Analo with Akumali is what many political pundits view as a like for like substitute.
Both trace their roots from the populous Mulembe nation that overwhelmingly voted for Salaja in the past elections. In keeping with this vote rich constituency, Sakaja is seemingly playing safe. Will this card hold?
Whereas there are mixed feelings about this, the outgoing county CS Patrick Analo was full of praise for the county boss as he wished his successor well.
“I most sincerely wish to thank Governor Sakaja Johnson for the trust and confidence he bestowed upon me so much to have appointed me to serve as County Secretary over the last one year & and a couple of months. It is a position I served with lots of honour, commitment & dedication every day. Words cannot be enough to describe the appreciation and humility.” Said the outgoing Ag. County Secretary.

While accepting the honor to serve as county CS, Mr. Godfrey Akumali, has promised to continue from where Analo left in ensuring that he serves with utmost zeal and dedication and ensure that Nairobi works.
.
“I am grateful to H.E, the Governor of this great city, Hon. Sakaja Johnson for entrusting me with this responsibility. I will ensure I serve to the best of my ability. I also look forward to ensuring the county government delivers its mandate to Nairobi residents. Service delivery and efficiency will be one of my key deliverables.”
Godfrey Akumali
Mr Godfrey Akumali has a long standing career in civil service. Born and raised in Kakamega county’s Ikolomani sub county, in Akumali, Sakaja has a dedicated, trustworthy servant who will help him realize his dream as envisioned in his Manifesto.
Many Nairobians have hailed Sakaja for his wisdom in handing Mr Akumali the daunting task.
“We have extreme confidence in Akumali’s ability to deliver. We hope that the governor will move with speed and have him confirmed soonest. We have had two other officers serve in interim capacity but pray that H.E. Gov Sakaja will have Mr Akumali assume the office substantively” added Mr Vincent Bukhala
