The recent events by the president where he dismissed his cabinet in its entirety has continued to attract mixed feelings from a cross section of Kenyans.
One such Kenyan is Esports Kenya President Ronny Lusigi who has termed Ababu Namwamba as the best performing CS in the just dissolved cabinet.
He particularly praised Ababu for supporting emerging sports
“Under Hon. Ababu we had a CS who really supported emerging sports and the so called small federations like esports. Before him we had CS’s who thought that only soccer, athletics and rugby deserve support but under CS Ababu that changedAs esports his support enabled us to win our first African championship back in May 2024 and we now have a strong team for the world Championship. We hope President Ruto retains him in the new cabinet”

While accepting the president’s decision to recall the cabinet, Hon Ababu thanked the president for the honor bestowed upon him.
It is a special honour, privilege and blessing to serve one’s nation, more so in Cabinet, the country’s highest policy making organ. I thank His Excellency President @WilliamsRuto for the trust and confidence that informed my appointment to serve in Cabinet for the second time in my public service life. God bless Kenya and grant the President grace and wisdom to navigate our country into safe harbour.
Hon Ababu has transformed the sports docket where under his watch he led the process of monetizing talent under the Talanta Hela project.
With regards to how the national teams have been prepared, Hon Ababu has been very instrumental. Issues of our national team sleeping in foreign airports have not been witnessed.
Our junior starlets have had an amazing outing beating teams at will. Thanks to the immediate former CS for sports Hon Ababu. Our young girls will now be flying our flag to the world cup, a fete never witnessed before. In a nutshell, Ababu has streamlined the sports industry in our country by not only delving o soccer , athletics and rugby but by diversifying to feature all sports.
We hold the view that Hon Ababu deserve a come back to keep serving the nation.
