Mudavadi graces Ze-Pre 30th Anniversary.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi joined members of Zep-Re for their 30th anniversary. Speaking at the carnivore grounds, Mudavadi led delegates in honouring the long journey Zep-Re has walked in Kenya. The insurance regulatory body dates to way back when Mudavadi was the Finance minister of Kenya.

While addressing members at the conference, the Prime CS lauded the successful journey and transformative moves it has made in Africa and particularly Kenya. Mudavadi put elaborate emphasies on the government of Kenya’s commitment to supporting Zep-Re due to its immense growth potential in technology and innovation.

Mudavadi pointed out that ,’I ascertain that through Zep-Re, which has over the years been an implementating agent in Africa, it has paved way for immense sustainable growth which in return promotes perfect sustainability in Africa at large. ‘

The Prime CS acknowledged the governing body for playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of the insurance industry, thus improving innovation skills as well as technology from the insurance industry.

Through Zep-Re, strong and progressive industries have emerged which have helped in growing local institutions,’ said Mudavadi.

The Prime CS also commended the good work done by Ze-Pre in combating climate change. This is evident through the initiative that has seen Ze-pre plant 30,000 trees in celebrate thirty years of service in the insurance industry. This is in line with governments goal of planting 15 billion trees to achieve 30% forest cover by 2032.

‘Through Zep-Re , the Bottom Up Economic and Transformation Agenda BETA is in the process of being achieved hence creation of jobs for millions of youths and those at the low level of the job chain. I assure you that the Government of Kenya undermy office will facilitate and promote Zep-Re growth agenda in the continent,’ said Mudavadi.

Zep-Re is a leading reinsurer in Africa and a specialised institution of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA). It was established in 1990 under the then Preferential Trade Area, a precursor to COMESA, to develop the insurance and reinsurance industries and support capacity building.
