Aladwa sets Vihiga politics alive as he declares his intentions in seeking to become the county’s third governor in 2027

The long holiday season is now coming to an end. Vihiga county was buzzing with activities as the city came calling.
Throught the holidaying month of December, Vihiga county played host to one of its son Hon George Aladwa.
With the national assembly in recess, the maverick city politician split his holiday between his rural home of Vihiga and Makadara.
It is however in Vihiga where Aladwa received the warmest reception. He traversed all the 5 sub-counties of Hamisi, Vihiga, Luanda, Emuhaya and his home sub-county of Sabatia where he freely mingled with community leaders as he assisted in fundraising for several projects
It is however his ease of accessibility, and quick connection with the locals that has sent shockwaves to his would be opponents in 2027.
According to trade unionist and social commentator one Mwalimu Peter Amunga Akhanyalabandu, Aladwa is undoubtedly Vihiga’s finest politician.

“Aladwa is the man to watch on matters Vihiga politics and the luhya nation at large. The man is a mobiliser both using his church networks, street wise , he is monied, understands the political terrain pretty well. Aladwa is a self made politicians and whoever is running against him should brace himself for a resounding defeat. Aladwa is undoubtedly the next Vihiga county governor” said Mwalimu Amunga.
As he traversed the vast Vihiga county, Aladwa had one simple message to Vihigans calling them to remain united and work hard to develop the county.
“Vihiga can only move forward by each and everyone of us working hard as we support the current leadership.Devolution is here to ensure counties develop and Vihiga county is not an exception” said Aladwa.
Bold and fearless.~Aladwa.
Aladwa’s brand of politics has been characterized by fiery and bold statements. Aladwa does not shy away from speaking his mind whenever he feels that a common mwananchi’s voice has not been heard .
Keep off Gov Sakaja” Aladwa tells Rigathi.
While delivering his new year message to congregants at Givogi in Vihiga, Aladwa who has since declared his interest for Vihiga governorship took on deputy president who of late has been attacking Nairobi governor Sakaja.
“We want to categorically tell the deputy president that his continued attack on the Nairobi governor is in bad taste. Hon Sakaja was elected by all Nairobians and he must be accorded time and support to deliver in his promises. The DP should know that the office he holds does not belong to his community but to all Kenyans. Rigathi should stop thinking of himself as a Kikuyu/Mt Kenya deputy president but as the deputy president of Kenya” said Aladwa.
With the entry of Aladwa in the race for Vihiga governorship, many things are expected to change in the coming days. For instance a majority of Vihiga county MCA’s have already pledged their support.
“We have all agreed to support Hon Aladwa for the top seat in 2027 once the current governor retires. Aladwa is pragmatic and has already shown his willingness to work with all Vihigans to develop this great county” a Kenya Kwanza leaning MCA who did not wish to be named said.
Almost all major churches in Vihiga like ADC, PAG, Friends, Church of God, Holy Spirit and Israel Nineveh Churches , youth groups and women groups have all embraced Aladwa’s candidature

As we move into 2027 and as 2023 begins, Hon George Aladwa’s influence and presence in Vihiga will be a phenomeno worthy watching.
Others who are expected to contest against Aladwa include former Sabatia MP Hon Agoi and the immidiate former senator Hon Khaniri George
